This is the Topre Realforce87U-55 SE18T0 Keyboard. It was released in 2014, and is the new English-character based flagship model by Topre. The Realforce series features the same key action as the Happy Hacking Professional2 series and is the only equal to the Happy Hacking Keyboard.

Here at Smart Imports, we have been using the HHKB Pro2 for a number of years, but recently got this model of Realforce for one of our desktops. We are VERY happy with it. We still have my HHKB Pro2 for one of the laptops when I’m working away from home though. I’ll quote from my HHKB Pro2 listing, as the same applies to this keyboard: “Before I found the HHKB Pro2 I was buring through keyboards about every six months to a year. Normal keyboards would get sticky and unresponsive after less than six months and nicer $60 mechanical keyboards would start slowing down after less than a year. That’s why I would say buying a $300 keyboard is actually a savings if you need to type a lot like I do. You won’t buy another keyboard for YEARS. “

It’s a great keyboard

This keyboard feels pretty good a bit different from the HHKB but in a good way you get a more solid typing experience because of the steel plate. It’s build like a tank and will go on for years. They key caps will never wear off since it’s dye subbed PBT key caps. And the key caps will not shine maybe after daily use 5 years long.
This one is the 55G version so it’s a bit heavier then the usual Topre domes (45g) This one feels more snappier,tactile and you will make less mistakes because it’s harder to press a key because of the weight. So for people that like light and effortless key presses i would recommend to get the 45g version.
My experience buying from Smart imports has been great i bought 2 Topre boards now from William. The shipping is fast didn’t take longer then a week to arrive from Japan to the Netherlands. I would recommend this keyboard if you want to have one solid keyboard for years to come.
*This keyboard is a bit lower then your standard mechanical keyboard so if you have a wrist rest for a mechanical keyboard the wrist rest will be a bit to high to use it comfortable with the 87U*

Okay so this is the third time I’ve bought this board from smartimports.
As always William was fast in responding to my mails. Shipping was very fast aswell. I’ve been through 15 mechanical keyboards with all kinds of switches but I keep coming back to the RF55g. There’s just something about this board… Hands down best stock board money can buy. The keypress feels very very refined even stock.
Would highly recommend buying this board.
