It’s well known that the HHKB feet are not very good and it is easy to slide the keyboard around because it is so light. This addition not only keeps it in place better, the sound is a just a bit deeper and more pleasant. I’m using on a Type-S and highly recommend it.
I’ve tried some foam feet by another vendor, but they were actually slicker than the stock HHKB feet. Sorbothane is nice, but way too tacky / sticky to be portable. This is a nice middle ground that gives it a more solid feel and sound but is just as portable.
It is a bit expensive for rubber, but the fact that it is an official HHKB accessory is part of the fun.
Be aware it does cover the entire bottom so take a picture of your serial # before covering it. The package comes with a small card to write it on, but take a picture right away before you forget 🙂

This is a decent add-on to the HHKB keyboard, and let’s face it, there aren’t really many.
The material used is called PORON rubber and its main properties are shock absorbing and vibration reduction.
What does it do for the HHKB? Not a whole lot really, just a very light improvement. It feels a little better than the solid rubber stick on feet you can buy, it grips a lot better than stock feet, it dampens the sound a little too.
This mat won’t change your life, but it will make it a little bit better.

I ordered this item for my HHKB Pro 2 standard. It seriously improves the sound of the keyboard. There’s a more solid “feel” when bottoming out the keys. The grip is also a massive improvement over awful feet of the keyboard. I do feel like this should be a standard component of the HHKB.
I’ve only given it 4 stars since $37 USD is pricey for a small rubber mat. However, I’ll likely order a second in the future since it works so well.
On a side note this website is great. Only took about 1 week to arrive in New York!
